This one was first published in 1958 as The Case of the Greedy Grandpa in The Saturday Evening Post, then in book form in 1959. This is a Pocket Book Edition # 6063 First Printing March 1961.

Bottom front corner is torn off the cover and someone has written inside the front cover and made a couple of marks on the front flyleaf. Otherwise is a good reading copy. Pages are tight and unmarked except as noted.

Had not read this one before. Bit different but still all Perry Mason. Started August 13 and finished August 14 2009.

Written in 1957 with an abridged version published in the Saturday Evening Post of that year this book came out in 1958. I had read it before though I was a couple of chapters into it before I was sure. Not bad even on a reread. Started it on August 12 and finished on August 13 2009.

This is a Pocket Book Edition # 45005 – Sixth Printing – June 1964

Another of Fosters collections of short stories but these are all about Mad Amos Malone. I wish he would write a novel about Amos. I’d like to see more of him.

I’ve read this one so many times there weren’t any surprises here, but it’s still a good read!

This is an even earlier Gardner, written in 1941, and takes place without the trademark courtroom scene. Still unmistakably Mason but is a bit rough around the edges. Paul Drake is dragged through it and gets upset with Perry. Overall a good read.

This copy is A Cardinal Edition # C-284 and is a 3rd Printing from April 1958.

This is early Gardner, written in 1942, but it still has the feel of the later Perry Mason books. This is one of the batch of several hundred I bought a while back and is one I had not read before. Was a rather pleasant read and only somewhat dated.

I really need to start scanning the covers on these books and posting them as I do these entries. This is another of the pile I have read since I started this blog and then failed to enter. Trying to catch up… ;-)

This is A Pocket Book Edition and is a 6th printing from November 1965.

Alan Dean Foster’s first (and of present only) novel featuring Federale Angel Cardenas. Another good one by Foster. Started and finished this one right after Montezuma Strip. As I had read it much more recently than Montezuma Strip I did remember more of it but there were still a few surprises that I had either missed the first time around or I am getting more and more blank spaces on the tape which is more likely.

Alan Dean Foster’s book of short stories about Federale Angel Cardenas. Good read (and reread) though here again a lot of what I thought I remembered wasn’t “quite” what happened.

And though I had good intentions about doing the posting as I read stuff it isn’t happening that way. I finished this one the day after the first post and it’s 9 days later as I type this. Got a bunch to put in as of today. Will try to do better but who knows if I will… :-)

Just finished rereading it. Some ways better than I remembered it and some ways not as good. Memory seems to fade more and more as I get older. Or get more mixed up.

This blog is mainly to help me keep up with what I have read and when. May make notes on the books as I read them and may not, just depends on my mood at the time.
